PPR 17 / 1st Pressing: 1000 CD
June 2007
$8 (postage paid)
This is Noise Noise Noise's first full length. Recorded by J Waylon Porcupine(The Reddmen) This is what MRR has to say about it: Wow. What a surprise. Never heard of these folks and they fuckin' smoke. Over-cranked distorto garage pop punk. Sounding like the bastard child of SCARED OF CHAKA, FYP, and even the MARKED MEN. The songs are all over the yard, from 40-second blazers to anthemic pop numbers. It's rough and scrappy with hooks galore...and I'm sure a blast live. Every song on this little gem is a keeper and like most bands from the arse end of nowhere (Montana) they have tons of personality and originality. Class. (Tim Brooks)

When we were putting together the "We like to Kick Ass" comp, we wanted an exclusive track from our friend Matt, who is 1985. He said why don't you have the cover I do of Racetracks "The Way Things are Here" He released an album but he felt it was a small release that it still made the track pretty rare, and somehow the deal also became tummy rock would co-release with MASA records the album A FOuntain for Pegusus, some new artwork, and two DIY bazzars later we consider this one of our coolest releases.

This was the first of Tummy Rock's supposed comp series, that ended shortly because of how difficult comps are to assmble. This is an ode to some of my favorite bands that were ever considered "bands from Montana" Some of these bands played as many as 5 shows, some of them put out many great records for years or are still putting out great work. It's all honest and lo-fi. Best mixtape I've ever made.

Did you know I released this? Well I wanted to. And I told the band I would release it, but really they did it all on their own, recorded and made all the copies and did all the work. I even bought my own copy at earcandy. But I left ppr#10 for them so they screwed up my whole catalog system by forgetting to put on the CD that we released it...whatever. Long story short this band played the best high school pop punk ever. Super solid/tight band. One of my favorite Great Falls bands ever...This CD will be available for free soon.

The sophmore effort to Save Cynicism, You Can't Run Away From Yourself EP was the first old shoes album to really have decent songwriting. Classic old shoes songs Pity Party, and Custard Banana's are the highlights, while unfourtunetly negative/mean songs like Nate Dogg are also on this CD. This was all four tracked in about 4 days. This was my first effort of really recording my solo songs. Jared Sayre playede drums, while Peter Dolan played organ and drew the cover.

The last Raincoat Mafia album. Solitary Seagull was tape recorded so we had new stuff to sell on our first tour. We thought we would sell alot of tapes on Suckfest. We were wrong. We amde maybe 20. We sold like 2 and I gave the rest away. This was when we decided we should try to be really artsy instead of offensive and screamy. Some might think this was good, others maybe not so much.

In Hopes of Reaching Someone
PPR 05 / 1st Pressing: 30 limited edition cass
January 2003
$5 (postage paid)
This is a cassatte release in the style of my early demo tapes. Tape recorded all live and raw. Some really early versions of songs, and alot of songs I never recorded or played live again. Some songs didn't even make the cut I remember. Peter Dolan Plays piano on a song, and I think thats all the guests. The B-Side is a live show where I played for like 40 minutes. A really long fucked up set now that I think about it. Still really emotional on this tape. Each tape came with it's own special artwork and quote. There are still some copies of this if you are looking to hear lo-fi songs in transition from Highschool to College.

Welsh Cow/The Hurting Someone's Feelings CASS
PPR 04 / 20-30 tapes
Summer 2002
OUT OF PRINT
This band was annoying. These songs are immature and crass. This band was brilliant. These songs could kill. The a-side that became the "Welsh Cow" album is a 14 minute improv of distorted high pitch screams and fast feed back driven guitar, recorded first on a playskool Sesame Street "talk n play." This birthed a 14 min fuzzy album that can only be heard through the left speaker on a stereo. A month later the duo then tape recorded a less exciting b-side called The Hurting Someone's Feelings game. Not as strong but has it's moments. This will be repackaged and re-released someday.

This is an EP which if I had known what I was doing could have been a full lentgh but that doesn't matter cause this CD sucks. It's all about breaking up with someone. It's lame and terrible and I may not make it downloadable cause it's bad songs written in high school. This CD was recorded in a studio and really should have been home recorded but I didn't know at that point how to get my music on a CD. There are 3 outtakes from the studio session. They are awful, but could have been put on and made the cd a 9-10 track piece of crap.

Fall 2001?

Spencer and I made up a song called Soccermatch. There are over 10 versions of it. All of them were available(with exception to the last soccer match) on this cassatte release. Spencer put together all of the tapes and they had great art and liner notes, they also included saftey tips from some strange tape spencer had found. More on that when I dig up the tape. Anyways this was really brilliant for a couple of 17 year olds. I love this tape. It will be available in some form soon. This was on spencers tape label Little Robot Records, it was release number 0. The b-side of the tape had the ep worth of material that Battery Operated Boyfriend recorded. That too I would like to get up in some form.

Lets get this straight right here. This was not the first thing the label did. The catalog number for the first series of releases is done in a way you would think it would happen but this tape came out after ppr 2, and wasn't really done much with until after ppr 3. Also if you want to get technical I made 7 or 8 demo tapes that will never see the light of day before this under the first label name poser punk records. All of those demos were given to 7 or so close friends and were sad songs written while I was 16-18 and are awful and depressing. This however is alot of tape recorded stuff that was never on albums really. Live adhd, early raincoat mafia, a live old shoes track, and of course battery operated boyfriend who was never really on poser punk records ever, but I loved and still do love them so much. In highschool punk rock, and music my friends made were all I cared about. It took me years to understand what we were really doing and naive we were, but we were mostly beautiful even if our songs weren't. I even foolishly gave Calvin Johnson this tape at a show in Missoula when I saw him. He never wrote. God I was so young.....
